Tips To Help You Ring In The New Year Safely

New Year's Eve SafetyNew Year’s Safety Tips

New Year’s Eve is notorious for parties. Whether you are attending a party or hosting one, safety should be a major concern. If you follow these simple tips, your New Year’s celebrations can be fun and safe at the same time.

Hosting a New Year’s Party:

If you are hosting this year’s New Year’s celebration, make sure all of your guests are safe by keeping these simple tips in mind:

  • Plan ahead and have a designated driver. As the host, it might be a good idea for you to take on this role for part of the night.
  • If you do not want to worry about designated drivers, get in touch with a local cab company to have them provide rides for your guests.
  • Serve some non-alcoholic beverages throughout the night to help keep things under control.
  • If you are serving alcohol, try to stop serving it a few hours before the party ends so that your guests have a chance to wind down before the end of the festivities.
  • If worse comes to worse, consider fixing up the guest room or the couch for guests to stay overnight.

Attending a New Year’s Party:

  • If you plan to drink, do not plan on driving. Designate someone to be the sober driver, or hire a taxi or Uber driver to take you home.
  • Consider arranging to stay where you are overnight or until you are sober.
  • Eat plenty of food to help you slow the absorption of alcohol into your system.
  • Know your limits and stick to them throughout the night.
