This month goes towards educating and encouraging every one on the importance of partaking in healthy living habits and indulging on nutritious foods.   • When cooking meat, avoid frying. It is best to bake, grill, or even broil your meat, as this will allow you to take advantage of the nutritional benefits. Also, try to indulge on fish at least once a week and give your body a break from the meat.
  • It is time to cut back on extra fats. These extra fats include butter, margarine, sour cream, and heavy salad dressings. There are many low-fat versions of these extra fats that you can enjoy.
  • You should have fruits and veggies daily with each of your meals. If you find it difficult to have vegetables daily, it may be time to indulge on a green smoothie for breakfast filled with kale, spinach, and other nutritious goods.
  • Hydrate with the right liquids! This means avoiding sugar-sweetened drinks, soft drinks, sodas, and flavored milk. If possible, stick to only water. You can switch it up by indulging on fruit-infused water whenever you are craving something other than water.
  • Before purchasing anything at the store, look at the nutrition label. This is a common neglect amongst individuals as they assume they know what is healthy and what is not.
  • Most importantly, try to avoid excess sodium and sugar. These two have proven to be harmful to our bodies, especially when overindulged.
